Can a dosimeter bring radiation dust into the house from calibrating the machine or testing a radioactive substance?
Answer from: Artyom Artyomovich:
Radioactivity does not know how to turn on and off on command. If your dosimeter has been in a place where radioactive dust could have been deposited on it, it will indicate the presence of radiation when it is turned on. Conversely, if the dosimeter reads zero, there is no radioactive dust on it.
