The birth of the worldwide network was the Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects ARPA (USA), which in 1967 presented a plan to build a packet network ARPANET.
On September 2, 1969, a group of scientists led by Leonard Kleinrock succeeded in establishing a channel for transmitting data from one computer to another via cable. This moment is considered the beginning of the Internet era.
In January 1983, ARPANET switched to the TCP:IP protocol. From the same year the term began to be used to refer to the concept of mutually switched networks "Internet".
