Icelandic as far as I know is archaic (compared to other Scandinavian languages) and conservative (so it hasn't changed much and Icelanders can read sagas etc. even now). I think it's easier to learn for speakers of Norwegian, Danish and Swedish. Or people who are fluent in those languages.
