What is the most harmless addiction? And is it possible to overcome one addiction to another?

Answer from: Ivanov43:
Young active. 2 higher educations. Family man. Hobbies: construction, cars...

I'll start with the second part of the question. This is exactly how addictions are overcome: with the help of a new addiction. This is very well written about in Charles Dahigg's book "The Power of Addiction", if you're interested. The book is written in excellent language, with lots of examples, you will surely learn something new. A harmless addiction is one that won't be disastrous to give up. Well, for example, I like rye bread. But I won't die without it, except to mourn for a few weeks :)
